If you’re a lover of sport, you probably can’t think of anything better than going away for a few weeks in the summer and doing nothing else but play the sport you love, trying out new activities, making new friends and making new memories at the same time. And if you’re the parent of a child who loves sport, there’s nothing better than having a free house and peace and quiet for a few weeks in the summer (just kidding, we know you love them really. But sometimes you do love peace and quiet more, am I right?) However, with so many sports camps across the world, how do you know which one to choose?
IMG Sports Camps
The IMG Sports Camp is one of the best in the world. With a focus on numerous sports, including tennis, athletics, baseball, basketball, football, golf, lacrosse, performance, and soccer there will be something for everyone here. The camp is also a private boarding school and specializes in sports development and experience – and because it’s a school, the camp is not limited to the summer. Children of all ages can stay and train here, as well as family and school groups. The main base is in Bradenton in Florida, so you can top up your tan while you’re at it, too.
Soccer Camps International
As you can probably tell, the Soccer Camps International sports camp specializes in (you guessed it) Soccer! The camps have been running since 1999 and now offer some of the best soccer camps all across the world. The training sessions take place in some of the most prestigious soccer grounds across Europe, including the Juventus Center, Atletico Real Madrid, City Football Academy and Liverpool FC Training Grounds. The camp offers destinations in England, Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal and specializes in all aspects of soccer for the soccer-mad child.
US Sports Camps
US Sports Camps is one of the most popular, and longest-running international sports camps, in the world. Founded in 1975, the initiative has gone from strength to strength – mostly because it does not have one singular base. Every summer, the US Sports Camps set up shop at most US college campuses and offer kids from across America (and the rest of the world) the chance to train in 15 different sports. Here you’ll be spoilt for choice, as there are 24 different sports programs including tennis, field hockey, soccer, yoga, and baseball.
World Sports Camp
The World Sports Camp offers their services in Easthampton, Massachusetts, for kids aged 6-16. They mainly specialize in basketball, golf, soccer, and tennis, with a few other sports activities thrown in for good measure. The aim of this family-run camp is to create a positive and safe environment for kids to enhance, develop and practice their athletic skills with the help of highly trained and professional sports coaches. The kids will stay in the dormitories at the school, within the 125-acre plot – which is plenty of space to have a runaround or a kick about.
If you or your kid is looking for the best of the best when it comes to sports training, ProCamps is the camp for you. The camp was established in 1998 and offers coaches and athletes from the NFL, NASCAR, NBA, PGA, the ATP and more, who are all on hand to give your sports-mad child the best training possible. They also offer over 175 ProCamps across America to choose from, so you’ll never have to travel too far.
